Actually lives I’ve touched through the anti-violence work over the years

My name is Samantha Collier, 16 years expert in the fields of state-wide anti-violence work, youth empowerment, social emotional growth and developing national systems of change. Within my 16 years, I have had the pleasure of serving organizations/ schools/ businesses such as: WestCare WI, Milwaukee Excellence Charter, Dr. Howard Fuller High School, Middle and High School, West Allis Central, City of Milwaukee Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Commissioner, Heal The Hood MKE, and Aurora Advocates for Health.

Why is this work important?

In Wisconsin:

  • Nearly one in five high school students (19.9%) reported that someone has forced them “to do sexual things they did not want to do.” (Youth Risk Behavior Survey)
  • 43.4% of LGBT students have experienced sexual assault or coercion. (Youth Risk Behavior Survey)
  • Support for vulnerable students

What does this work accomplish
